Frequently asked questions
Short answers to the questions we hear most. For a full walk-through of the dashboard, see the Guidelines.
Filodos
What is Filodos?
A system to monitor your fleet vehicles. It shows where each vehicle is, the trips it made, risky driving events, and photos and video from its two cameras. A unit installed in each vehicle sends the data.
How is it different from a basic GPS tracker?
A basic tracker shows a dot on a map. Filodos also splits movement into trips, flags risky events such as speeding, harsh braking, collisions and fatigue, and shows video from a road camera and a cabin camera. Daily, weekly and monthly reports sum it up in plain language.
What hardware goes in the vehicle?
One permanently wired unit per vehicle, with GPS and BeiDou positioning and two cameras: one points at the road, one at the cabin. The unit sends data through the mobile network.
Can I use trackers or cameras I already own?
Yes, for GPS trackers. We configure the trackers you already have to report to the Filodos dashboard, and you keep the hardware. You get the live map, trips, reports, geofences and driver scores. Harsh-driving events depend on what your tracker sends. Video and photos need a Filodos camera unit. Tell us the make and model, and we will confirm. See Connect your own GPS device.
Do I need to install software?
No. The dashboard runs in any modern browser. The mobile apps for iPhone and Android are optional. The iPhone app is on the App Store. The Android app is on Google Play.
Which languages does the dashboard support?
The dashboard and the apps are in English at this time. A Greek interface is on our roadmap. This website is in Greek and English.
What is available today, and what comes later?
The Features page marks each feature as Available, In development or Roadmap. Available means that it works today.
How do I contact you?
For general questions, write to info@filodos.gr. For prices and demos, write to sales@filodos.gr. If you are a customer and need help, write to support@filodos.gr.
Using the dashboard
How do I sign in?
Open filodos.gr/filodos-dashboard. Type your organization, your email and your password. Your administrator creates your account.
What can administrators do that users cannot?
Administrators add and edit vehicles and drivers, assign drivers to vehicles, draw zones, send commands to vehicles (live tracking, photo, video) and manage users. Users see the fleet and read all reports, but cannot change anything. Drivers sign in to the mobile apps and see only their own trips, events and reports.
How often does the map update?
Approximately every 15 seconds. An administrator can switch a vehicle to Track live, so that it reports every 10 seconds until you stop it.
What counts as one trip?
One drive from ignition on to ignition off. If a vehicle sends no data for more than 10 minutes, for example in an area with no coverage, the trip ends. Thus one real drive can show as two trips.
What are the pins on a vehicle's route?
Red "!" badges are risky events. Camera pins are photos. Blue pins are recorded video. Click a pin to see the details. A video plays in the popup.
Which driving events does Filodos record?
SOS, collision, rollover, fatigue, speeding against the posted limit of each road, harsh braking and harsh acceleration, zone entries and exits, and the driver-assistance (ADAS) alerts from the camera, for example forward collision or lane departure.
What does the "By vehicle / By driver" switch do?
By vehicle shows one vehicle, for all drivers. By driver follows one person across all the vehicles that person drove. It uses the driver-to-vehicle assignments in the dashboard.
Trips or events of a driver are missing. Why?
The driver is probably not assigned to that vehicle for that time period. Check the assignment on the Devices or Drivers page.
Can I set up geofences?
Yes. An administrator draws a circle or a polygon on the fleet map, then gives it a type (depot, customer or no-go) on the Geofences page and links the vehicles. A zone records entries and exits only for its linked vehicles.
How do I know that a unit works correctly?
Open the Devices page. The Health column shows the time since the last position, the ignition state, the number of satellites and the mobile signal.
Can I see fuel level, odometer or engine hours?
Not at this time. Reading these values from the vehicle's CAN bus is on our roadmap.
Can I export data to CSV or Excel?
Yes. The Trips, Events, Drivers, and Daily report pages each have an Export CSV button. It downloads the rows on the screen with fleet-local timestamps. For your data warehouse, use the Analytics API instead.
Photos and video
Can I watch live video from a vehicle?
Yes. An administrator clicks the vehicle on the fleet map and selects Stream video. The video plays on the Video page and in the mobile apps, some seconds behind real time. The system records each stream, so you can play it again later.
Does Filodos record video all the time?
No. The servers keep only the streams that a user starts, and short clips that SOS, collision and rollover alarms record automatically. All other footage stays on the memory card in the vehicle. There is no audio.
A photo or video request says "saved", but nothing arrived. Why?
Usually the ignition is off. The unit sends no photos or video while the engine is off, and the system keeps the request until the ignition comes on. The vehicle can also be out of mobile coverage, or the upload is not complete. Wait one minute before you report a problem.
How long do you keep photos and video?
Video for 30 days and photos for 1 year. Then the system deletes them automatically. Longer video retention is available as an add-on.
Data and privacy
Where is our data stored?
On servers in data centres in the European Union. All connections use encrypted HTTPS.
Who can see our fleet data?
Only the users of your organization. Each customer is a separate organization, and each request is checked against the organization of the signed-in user. In your organization, administrators and users can open all reports, while drivers see only their own driving. Only administrators can change data.
Do you sell our data or use it for advertising?
No. The mobile apps contain no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking.
Our drivers will be recorded. What must we tell them?
For vehicle and camera data, your company is the data controller and Filodos processes the data for you. Tell your drivers what the system records and why. Our privacy policy describes the data in detail.
How do I delete an account?
Ask the Filodos administrator of your organization, or write to support@filodos.gr from the address you sign in with. We delete the account within 30 days. See the privacy policy for fleet data.
Pricing and contracts
How much does it cost?
One monthly price per vehicle, with unlimited users. Tracking starts from €15 and Video from €29 per vehicle per month, excluding VAT. See the Pricing page for the plans.
Is there a minimum contract?
Plans run on a 12-month agreement, billed annually. Enterprise and multi-year terms are available on request.
Can I try it before a full rollout?
Yes. Our pilot programme lets you try Filodos on 10–20 vehicles first. Write to sales@filodos.gr for the current pilot terms.
Can I switch a vehicle between Tracking and Video?
Yes. Each vehicle gets the same dual-camera unit, so the change is on our side, with no second installation. You can mix plans across your fleet.
Do new features cost extra?
No. Features marked In development or Roadmap come to your plan when they launch. Only one-off integration work and the listed add-ons cost extra.
